Make files and downloads appear on second monitor

 · i connected an external monitor to my laptop with a VGA cable. im able to view the exact same desktop that's on my laptop, on the external monitor too. what i WANT to do is to move an excel document from my desktop to the second monitor, while i view something different on my laptop screen.  · when you go into display settings, click (highlight) monitor 2 then scroll down and select "Make this my main display" found that even although windows detected monitor 1 and monitor 2 correctly, for some strange reason, it would only put the desktop icons onto monitor 1 (primary) when selecting screen 2 (secondary) as the main display, go figure! After connecting your wireless display adapter to your TV, go to your Windows 10 PC and select Start Settings System Display, then select Connect to a wireless display. Rearrange your displays. You'll see this option when Windows detects more than one display.

Hi, I am using Fedora 15 with dual monitors. I want to make an application open automatically on the second monitor. In particular I would like to make Firefox open on the second monitor. For now I am just manually moving Firefox to the second monitor, but if I close it down and open it again, it automatically opens on the first monitor. Good morning to all. I am having a similiar situation as the OP with Chrome windows. I have 3 monitors, may main monitor (1), my second monitor on the left (2) and my third monitor on the right (3). I have Chrome pinned to all 3 taskbars. I have the option in settings checked to open applications on the current monitor as well. Make this monitor the Primary Monitor - regardless of the number MS assigns to it. Monitor 2 or Monitor 3 can be Primary. Make sure under Taskbar Settings and Multiple Displays the Show taskbar on all displays is Off -slide the dot. Then drag the primary Monitor to the far left of the select and rearrange Displays setup, whether it is #1 #2 or #3.

when you go into display settings, click (highlight) monitor 2 then scroll down and select "Make this my main display" found that even although windows detected monitor 1 and monitor 2 correctly, for some strange reason, it would only put the desktop icons onto monitor 1 (primary) when selecting screen 2 (secondary) as the main display, go figure!. This worked for me to move the dock at the bottom of the screen with icons from one screen to another (not the folders though): Move your mouse arrow to the very bottom of the display where you want your dock to appear and hover it there for a couple seconds. The dock will move off your primary display and appear on your other display. • #1. If you pin the browser to the taskbar on the second monitor, it will open on that monitor when you use that shortcut. You can pin it by opening the browser on the second monitor, then right-clicking its taskbar button on the second monitor and choosing "Pin this Program to Taskbar." Hope that helps!.
